Q: What is PrestoConnect?

A: PrestoConnect™ is a website that provides a snapshot of important information about your Presto Account and the Presto Printing Mailbox. While anyone on the friends list can email messages, Account Managers can also use PrestoConnect to do any of the following:

  • Create messages, reminders and to-do lists for the Presto user
  • Schedule delivery of reminders based on one-time or recurring events or appointments to the Presto user when it will be most useful for them
  • See who is sending messages to the Presto user and how many pages are being delivered to the Printing Mailbox
  • Add or modify the times at which the Printing Mailbox connects with the Presto Service to receive new messages.

Q: Can I create and send a simple message from my PrestoConnect homepage?

A: In addition to sending messages from your regular email client, as an Account Manager you can also create and send messages, reminders and to-do lists from your PrestoConnect homepage. To send a simple message, just click on "Send a message" from the "Messages" panel on your PrestoConnect homepage. The Presto user's name will appear at the top of the page. You can select a Presto Template on this page, attach photos or PDFs and also schedule it to be delivered at one of the dial-in times you have already set up.

Q: Can I attach a photo to a message I create from my PrestoConnect homepage?

A: In addition to sharing photos with Presto users by attaching them to messages from your regular email client, as an Account Manager, you can also attach photos to simple messages, reminders and to-do lists from your PrestoConnect homepage. To attach a photo to any of these message types, just select the "attachment" link on the "Send a message", "Send a reminder" or "Send a to-do list" pages and select an appropriate file to include with your message.

Q: Can I schedule a message to be delivered to the Presto Printing Mailbox?

A: Messages, reminders and to-do lists can all be scheduled for delivery to the Printing Mailbox by Account Managers from your PrestoConnect homepage. To schedule a message, reminder or to-do list, just select options for delivery on the "Send a message", "Send a reminder" or "Send a to-do list" pages.

Q: Can I create different delivery times when I'm scheduling delivery of a message, reminder or to-do list?

A: The only times available for delivering a message, reminder or to-do list to the Printing Mailbox are the dial-in times that are designated for that particular device. During sign-up, the Account Manager selects up to 3 dial-in times. However, up to five delivery times can be selected. To modify the dial-in times established for the Printing Mailbox, click on "Manage printer settings" under "Printing Mailbox Activity & Settings" on your PrestoConnect homepage.

Q: Can I copy (or cc) someone on a message I create and send from my PrestoConnect homepage?

A: When composing and sending a message, reminder or to-do list from your PrestoConnect homepage, you can copy a recipient other than the Presto user. If the person being copied is a Presto Friend, click "cc a friend" then select their name. In addition, you can type in the email address of someone that is not a Presto Friend to receive the same message.

Q: Can I create and send a reminder from my PrestoConnect homepage?

A: In addition to sending messages from your regular email client, as an Account Manager you can also create and send messages, reminders and to-do lists from your PrestoConnect homepage. To send a reminder for a time-based event, such as a family gathering, sporting event, appointment or birthday, just click on "Send a reminder" from the "Reminders" panel on your PrestoConnect homepage. The Presto user's name will appear at the top of the page. You can name the event for which you are creating the reminder, set the date, start and end time as well as indicate if the event is recurring. At the bottom of the page, you can schedule one or two reminders to be delivered prior to the event.

Q: What if the event for which I am sending a reminder is recurring? Can I set up a recurring reminder?

A: You can set up messages, reminders and to-do lists to be printed on the Printing Mailbox on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis. You can set up to two reminders for each occurrence of the event, appointment or special occasion for which you are creating the reminder.

Q: Can I copy (or cc:) someone on a reminder I create and send from my PrestoConnect homepage?

If the person being copied is a Presto Friend, click "cc a friend" then select their name. You can also just type in the email of someone that is not a Presto Friend to also receive the message.

Q: Can I copy (or cc:) someone on a to-do list I create and send from my PrestoConnect homepage?

Q: Can I send a Presto reminder or to-do list from my own email client?

A: You can always send a message to a presto.com email address using your email client (e.g. Outlook, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.) , however if you want to send to-do lists or reminders you must create them from your PrestoConnect homepage.

Q: Can I use the Printing Mailbox to deliver medication reminders to my loved one?

A: As an Account Manager, you can set up a recurring reminder for any date or time-based event and have a print-out delivered to the Printing Mailbox at selected delivery times daily, weekly or monthly. You can also include an image of the medication by clicking "attachment". This capability makes PrestoConnect a useful tool for helping aging loved ones remember to take their medicine. For more information on creating a reminder, go to, "Can I create and send a reminder from my PrestoConnect homepage?"

Q: How do I use advanced delivery scheduling options?

A: When sending a reminder, to-do list or message from your PrestoConnect homepage, you can choose a specific delivery time or times based on the Printing Mailbox dial-in times.

When composing a message or to-do list from your PrestoConnect homepage, simply select the date and time you wish it to be delivered. If you prefer, you can choose multiple deliveries. For example to send a weekly to-do list, under recurrence select "weekly" and choose the date and call-in time.

When creating a reminder you are asked to provide a date and an optional time for the event, appointment, or occasion. You may also indicate that it is a recurring event. When scheduling delivery, the delivery options are based on the date, time and recurrence pattern of the event and the Printing Mailbox dial-in times. For example, if you are scheduling a reminder to pay a bill on the 15th of each month, you can choose to have the reminder sent the day of, one day before, two days before, etc. You can also choose an additional delivery of a reminder. For example, you may want to send a reminder for a doctor's appointment the day before and the day of the appointment.

Q: How is sending a message using my PrestoConnect homepage different than using my email client?

A: You can always send a message to a presto.com email address and the Printing Mailbox using your email client (e.g. Outlook, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.), however sending a message from your PrestoConnect homepage allows advanced delivery scheduling options. To learn about advanced delivery options please read "How do I use advanced delivery scheduling options?". Whether using PrestoConnect or your email client you can stylize your email using a Presto Template. PrestoConnect does not enable the use of calendar templates, these must be invoked using your email client. To learn more about using a Presto Template with your email client please read "How do I create an email that will be printed with a special stylized look?".

Q: Where can I see messages, reminders and to-do lists I created on my PrestoConnect homepage?

A: You can see messages, reminders and to-do lists created from your PrestoConnect homepage by going to the Delivery Schedule and History page. You can get there by going to your PrestoConnect homepage and selecting, "manage messages", "manage reminders" or "manage to-do list" from either the Messages, Reminders or To-Do Lists panels.

The Delivery Schedule shows all items scheduled for delivery. If the item is a recurring item the next scheduled delivery occurrence will be displayed. The Delivery History shows all items that have been delivered to the Printing Mailbox for the last 90 days.

Q: How do I know if the Printing Mailbox is being used?

A: You can see the Printing Mailbox activity by selecting "view activity details" under "Printing Mailbox Activity and Settings" on your PrestoConnect homepage. The Printing Mailbox activity is broken down into two groups:

  • 1.) Friends Activity – a quick summary of emails received from those on the Friends List
  • 2.) Printing Mailbox Activity – a listing of messages recently received.

Messages are categorized as:

  • Email (e.g., sent from an email application)
  • Presto Message
  • Presto Reminder
  • Presto To-do list
Presto Messages, Reminders and To-do lists all refer to messages created and sent from your PrestoConnect homepage.
Note: For privacy reasons we do not display subject lines or message contents.

Q: What is a "nudge"?

A: We recognize that your loved one would benefit from receiving email from family and friends. The Friends Activity page lets you see if family and friends are sending messages to your loved one and allows you to send a gentle nudge to encourage emailing. If you select the nudge link, a pre-composed editable message window appears so you can review and edit the encouraging email prior to sending.
